Dr Phadiel Hoosen

Phadiel Hoosen is a clinical psychologist specialising in evidence-based therapeutic interventions and research on psychological well-being. His PhD examines children’s psychological well-being from a eudaimonic perspective, focusing on flourishing beyond happiness and meaningful life engagement. In clinical practice, Phadiel collaborates with diverse clients, addressing concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and interpersonal challenges. 


He integrates research with cultural sensitivity to provide tailored, scientifically grounded care. Phadiel’s continued research explores the interplay between well-being and social contexts, including resilience, mental health in culturally diverse populations, and the effects of socio-economic challenges. His work contributes to innovative, culturally informed approaches to mental health care, emphasising empowerment and meaningful growth.
